Peter A. Ryan plays a central role in the development and expansion of Barnett & Hall’s advanced planning, governance, and multigenerational advisory capabilities. His work focuses on complex wealth structuring matters that require coordination across legal, tax, fiduciary, and jurisdictional boundaries.
Peter advises individuals and families whose planning needs extend beyond standardized estate solutions. His practice frequently involves governance design, entity and trust structuring, and long-term planning for families with closely held assets, cross-border considerations, or evolving complexity. He has been closely involved in the design and implementation of family office and multigenerational advisory frameworks, supporting clients as they transition from traditional planning models to more structured, durable approaches. This work often includes advising on decision-making authority, fiduciary roles, and governance protocols intended to function effectively over time.
Peter’s perspective is shaped by extensive international experience and a background that spans law, finance, and global systems. He has lived and worked across Europe, the Pacific, and the Middle East, and regularly works with professional advisors and fiduciaries across multiple jurisdictions. This experience informs his ability to design legal structures that are both technically sound and practical in real-world operation.
He approaches client matters with an emphasis on clarity, discretion, and long-term effectiveness. Peter works collaboratively with clients and their advisors, focusing on building legal architecture that supports continuity, informed decision-making, and responsible stewardship over time.
Peter earned his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School and holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom.
